My ONE Word

This semester, my professor has given us an assignment to discover ONE word for the semester or year, a focus word. I have never been one to set goals for the year as I personally prefer to take life in strides, living one moment at a time, and making corrections as I go. I could appreciate this assignment as it has required me to open up in order to hear from God and allow him to give me a word that is suitable.

My ONE word is Intentional...

Intentional is an adjective defined as doing something with purpose and intent.
I have deemed this as my one word because it is applicable to all aspects of my life.

My plan to live out my word starts with my spiritual relationship with God. I will intentionally make him a priority so that I obtain an understanding of him, myself, and the world around me.

As an educator, I will become more intentional with planning lessons and positive affirmations to my students in order to continue to encourage them and develop life-long learners.

I will be more intentional in all relationships which I am involved so that each relationship is fulfilling and purposeful.

Living intentionally, to me, means to live on purpose with purpose. Making every move intentionally will help me to prioritize and align myself with God's plan.

No matter the background or walk of life from which we come, God has a purpose for each and every one of us. This is what I have been told all my life, and now that I have matured and seen some things for myself, I am a true believer in this statement. As I grow and seek God's face and an understanding of him for myself, I began to question my way of living life as I know it. I decided that this is my year to make every move intentional and with purpose in order to reach my destiny.
